Ferrari’s (NYSE:RACE) ‘FUV’ will Look, Drive, Run, Cost Like a Ferrari
Ferrari (NYSE:RACE) CEO Sergio Marchionne’s comments are confirmations about a Ferrari FUV (SUV).
The Super SUV segment of the automotive market is up and running with the arrival of the Lamborghini Urus.
There is a market that Ferrari know it can thrive in as it moves to achieve its goal of selling 2,000 units of the model in China alone and perhaps an equal amount in the US, as part of the Maranello outfits bigger goal of moving more than 10,000 units annually.
Ferrari’s FUV would have no real competitors, either.
In addition to the Lamborghini Urus, the Super SUV segment also includes the Betley Bentayga and the upcoming Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
But, where Ferrari differs, is that it clienti owns Super and HyperSupercar that are not driven daily, and virtually all of them own more than 1, so the US market alone has the scope to expand with a Ferrari that will be for many a ‘daily driver’
As yet I do not know how Ferrari plans to proceed in the development of the Ferrari FUV as it is Top Secret.
One thing is clear, however, the new model will be true to the company’s roots and core. So, we can at expect the model to be like nothing else in the SuperSUV segment. It may be an SUV but it will be a Supercar for sure.
I expect Ferrari to price its new FUV at $350,000.00 or more.
