Ferrari’s (NYSE:RACE) CEO Sergio Marchionne is known for his opposition to EV’s (electric vehicles), though his position has softened a bit over the past 2 years.
At the Detroit Auto Show last month, in a jab at Elon Musk’s pretender cars, Mr. Marchionne said that “if there were an electric supercar to be built, then Ferrari would be the first.”
Ferrari boss knows what he it talking about as he is well aware that his outfits Supercars are the world’s best, and when and it the Maranello outfits opts to make an EV model it will be the best, and it will sound great.
“…So whenever Ferrari will express itself in a fully electric vehicle, it will do so by making sure that both sound and handling are reflective of Ferrari’s heritage,” Mr. Marchionne said, leaving the entire world wondering how an electric vehicle can be made to sound like a naturally-aspirated V12.
I have been a Ferrari fan since the mid 1950’s and an owner since 1965, so it will be very interesting to see what happens if or when Ferrari decides to build an EV Supercar, as motoring is all about the sounds.
