Ferrari’s (NYSE:RACE) 2018 F1 Racer Will be a ‘Monster’ or…

Wednesday from the floor of the Detroit North American International Auto Show, Sergio Marchionne said it ispossible Ferrari has put together a “Monster” of a Formula 1 car for 2018, or …

The Y 2017 F1 constructor championship runner-up is calling its new car ‘Project 669,’ and it will be launched by Ferrari on 22 Feberuary.

“I was in Maranello for the last few days, and the guys are busy, but they seem too relaxed,” Ferrari President Marchionne said at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. “I can only conclude that we have either made a real monster or garbage. We have done everything to have a super-strong car, but we will have to wait until February 22 when we reveal it.”

It has been reported that Ferrari veteran driver Kimi Raikkonen will have a new race engineer this year, as his regular Dave Greenwood returns to Britain. Mr. Raikkonen will be engineered by Carlo Santi, who was promoted from within The Scuderia.

Mr. Marchionne did not deny rumors that he has big plans in F1 for Alfa Romeo, as the Italian brand becomes Sauber’s title sponsor this year.

“We are sponsors, but it is a work in progress with Sauber. It will take time,” he said.
