Ferrari (NYSE:RACE) unveiled a luxury hybrid Supercar Wednesday that can cruise silently through city streets on electric power as well as hitting a Top speed of 200mph.
The SF90 Stradale 4WD car is fitted with a 1,000 hp engine developed from F1. The new hybrid sports car was introduced to an invitation group of 2000clienti and motor-sports journalists at the Maranello Outfit’s HQ at Modena, Italy.
CEO Louis Camilleri described the new car as “astounding, fast and completely revolutionary”.
As well as offering the traditional thrill of high speed and performance, the new car permits 25 km of electric-only power, allowing drivers to leave home quietly and pass through city centers free of noise or emissions.
“It will be silent, we don’t want to hide that this car can run electric too,” CTO Michael Leiters said.
Smartphones of the journalists attending the event were taken away to prevent unauthorized photos of the new model leaking out.
Here is the Official Video Announcement
The SF90 Stradale will be its 1st widely produced hybrid.
Hybrid power units where introduced into F1 racing in 2014, helping to facilitate the transfer of technology to Ferrari road cars.
Ferrari selected VIP clienti from all over the world to Maranello for the 3-day event between Wednesday evening and Friday to view and reserve the new car, which will be delivered within 12 months.
The price for the SF90 Stradale will be announced later this week.
Other buyers will have to wait more than a year. Ferrari sells over 65% of its cars to clients who are already owners, I expect the production run to be bought up before a car is delivered.
Ferrari is the Aristocrat of the automotive sector.
The iconic Italian Supercar manufacturer claimed the title according to the latest Brand Finance Global 500 2019 report launched at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
