Ferrari (NYSE:RACE) ran a victory lap to be awarded the title of the world’s strongest brand, according to a new survey.
Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) remains the world’s most valuable brand, and there has been a strong performance from Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT).
The survey comes from the Brand Finance Global 500 for Y 2019, which measures the Top 500 brands across different measures.
Brand Finance is an independent consultancy.
The assessment is made using a metric called the Brand Strength Index. The survey results were announced at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland.
As well as Ferrari being in the Top position, other strong brands include the auditing firms Deloitte, PwC and EY. The growth of the former ‘accountancy’ firms is indicative of their expanded moves into a greater range of professional services and consultancy.
Ferrari was last in the Top spot in Y 2014.
A Key reason why the Maranello Outfit is back at the Top is due to its diversification: it is now not only known for cars, but for a range of items, from sunglasses to the luxury hotel Maranello Village.
Supercars are still Ferrari’s main source of income and Y 2018 was deemed a success, with orders being taken for all of 2018’s car builds by May, including some pre-orders for Y 2019.
