Ferrari Celebrated its 70th Anni with Scots Motoring Up The Royal Mile
Ferrari (NYSE:RACE) launched its newest car in Edinburgh as more than 70 Scots Ferrari owners got their Prancing Horses out of the garages and over to the Capital. With thousands already there for the festival, it a most welcome event.
Edinburgh, Scotland at Festival time is a happening. But add 75 Ferraris making their way along the Royal Mile at rush hour into the mix of tourists and street performers and the fun is ratcheted up a notch.
The Prancing Horses were all there, from the Ferrari LaFerrari and the Aperta leading the cavalcade to a Ferrari 308 GTS, to a yellow Ferrrai 488 GTB.
The 488 GTB has Ferrari’s award-winning 3.9-litre V8 engine under the glass-backed hood, offering 670PS, with a top speed of 205mph and a 0-62mph figure of 3 secs.
Sitting in the traffic on the High Street the crowds encouraged the revving of these fabulous engines, with sounds rising up in the narrow Old Town streets.
The parade slowly climbed up over the cobbles stopping time and again for photographs with tourists, amazed at this extra automotive attraction to their Edinburgh Festival experience.
This event was the culmination of months of planning to mark the 70th Anni of the world’s most iconic marques.
