  • Niki Lauda has named Ferrari as the favorite to win this weekend’s Singapore Grand Prix.

The 2017 Formula 1 World Championship battle continues this weekend with round 14 taking place in Singapore at the Marina Bay Circuit.

The circuit is lit up with 1,500 halogen lamps.

It is still hot at night in Sing., so there are lots of strategic variables to consider. And this the race lasts for 2-hours.

Weather conditions look to be fine for most of this weekend, although could see some stormy conditions during Sunday night’s race. Pirelli has nominated its 3 softest compounds: Soft, Supersoft, and Ultrasoft.

Going into Saturday’s qualifying session MercedesAMG’s Lewis Hamilton leads the 2017 Drivers’ Championship with 238 points.

Ferrari’s (NYSE:RACE) Sebastian Vettel is 2nd with 225 points and,

Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas is 3rd with 197 points.

In the Constructors’ Championship, MercedesAMG leads with 435 points Vs the 373 of Ferrari and 212 for Red Bull Racing.

Friday’s FP1 results:

Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen were 2nd and 2th fastest respectively in the 1st free practice session for the Singapore Grand Prix. Sebastian’s best lap was a 1”42’598, while Kimi did a 1”43’734. Both drivers opted to run the Ultrasoft tire.
