F1: Liberty Media Needs a Solution to Keep Ferrari on The Grid

Ross Brawn believes F1 needs to find a “solution” that keeps Ferrari (NYSE:RACE) in the sport without giving them special treatment., that’s Quaint.

Ferrari’s former technical boss is now part of F1’s hierarchy, handed the role of sporting boss by owners Liberty Media.

As such Mr. Brawn is playing an integral role in deciding the sport’s future, and it is one that he hopes will have Ferrari in it.

The Scuderia has threatened to quit recently, unhappy with Liberty’s proposals for the future.

Mr. Brawn told the motorsport media,  “They are very important and I carry them in my heart.

“I worked for them for ten years.

“Ferrari is an icon and I hope we will find a solution that will work for everyone.

“A great sport is great for everyone and we do not want Ferrari to leave.”

When asked whether Ferrari deserve ‘special treatment’, he replied: “The sport should be fair for all participants. I think that includes Ferrari.

“Yes it’s true that Ferrari has a veto right, but to my knowledge they never used it. Perhaps they waved it around.”

Mr. Brawn must take Ferrari seriously, F1 is Ferrari after all…
