F1: Lewis Hamilton on the Pole for the French Grand Prix

  • Lewis Hamilton will start Sunday’s 2018 Formula One French Grand Prix

Mr, Hamilton trails Sebastian Vettel by 1 point in the Driver Standings.

Mr. Hamilton will be joined by MercedesAMG team-mate Valtteri Bottas on the front row, while Ferrari’s (NYSE:RACE) Sebastian Vettel took 3rd place Saturday with Kimi Raikkonen in 6th place, behind the 2 Red Bulls.

The qualifying was shortened by heavy rains.

The MercedesAMG driver was 1 of only 15 drivers to set a time early in the day, as the rain came pouring down within 10 mins of the session starting.

Mr. Hamilton had already taken the Top spot when the Red flags went up, and MercedesAMG took their time sending their drivers out again, with Red Bull following suit.

It made for a hectic ending to the session, below are the highlights

With Lewis Hamilton on Pole for the 75th time in his F1 career alongside teammate Valtteri Bottas, there will be less chance of a Turn 1 incident between the Top 2 qualifiers Sunday.

However, despite an imperfect 2nd qualifying run, Mr. Vettel is just behind the pair and that is dangerous if he gets a good start.
