F1: Lewis Hamilton Led from Start to Finish Winning at Shanghai
$RACE
Lewis Hamilton got the best of Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel, beating him comfortably to win the Chinese Grand Prix Sunday at Shanghai
The MercedesAMG star led from start to finish after beginning the race in Pole position. It was his 1st win of the season after finishing 2nd behind his Ferrari rival in Melbourne 2 weeks ago.
Max Verstappen, 19 anni, exceeded all expectations, finishing 3rd despite starting in 17th place on the grid. He held off teammate Daniel Ricciardo who came 4th in the final stages of the race as the team mates jostled for the final position on the podium.
Romain Grosjean in a lapped car was holding up Mr. Verstappen, who was complaining over the team radio, because he could not get as far ahead of Mr. Ricciardo as he wanted, blocked by Grosjean’s Haas.
“It’s ridiculous, I’m losing grip,” Mr. Verstappen said. “This is getting ridiculous.”
The young Red Bull driver was feeling the heat from his Aussie mate who was breathing down his back right up until the end of the race.
Mr. Ricciardo kept pushing to move past Mr. Verstappen, but his defensive driving was too good and he kept his team mate at bay.
“What the hell is happening?’ Kimi Raikkonen was complaining of a loss of power in his Ferrari as he languished behind Daniel Ricciardo during the race.
