F1: Ferrari’s (NYSE:RACE) Vettel Scheduled to Test Tuesday in Spain
Sebastian Vettel, runner-up to MercedesAMG’s Lewis Hamilton last year, is scheduled to test drive for the Scuderia Tuesday, when Spain’s weather service forecast colder temperatures and the possibility of snow.
Defending champion Lewis Hamilton managed to get in 25 laps before the weather turned unfavorable after teammate Valtteri Bottas had his turn behind the wheel for MercedesAMG.
Mr. Bottas put in the 2nd fastest lap. Kimi Raikkonen of Ferrari and Nico Hulkenberg of Renault were all also within 0.4 secs of Red Bulls ‘hot shoe’ Daniel Ricciardo, who posted the fasted time of the session.
Testing in northeastern Spain runs until Thursday. A 2nd 4-day session will be held from 6-9 March
The season-opening Australian GP is on 25 March.
