F1: Ferrari’s (NYSE:RACE) Vettel Focused on Winning a Shanghai
Ferrari’s (NYSE:RACE) Sebastian Vettel’s winning form may face its biggest challenge at Shanghai, where he has not won since Y 2009.
Mr. Vettel was not the winner at the Shanghai International Circuit during any of his 4 championship-winning campaigns, only making the podium once in his Ys 2010 to 2013 dominance of the motorsport.
But, he has finished 2nd in the Chinese Grand Prix for the past 2 seasons and arrives on the back of wins in the opening 2 races of the Y 2018 campaign, the 1st time Ferrari have won the opening 2 races of a season since Michael Schumacher did so in Y 2004.
MercedesAMG has Topped the podium at each of the last 4 runnings of this race: Lewis Hamilton winning 3 of those, and will be keen to prove they have not been toppled as F1’s dominant force by winning this weekend.
Relations between Messrs Hamilton and Vettel appear to have thawed a bit after Mr. Vettel came to Mr. Hamilton’s defense during a post-race news conference at Bahrain.
Away from the track
Ferrari pit crew member, Francesco Cigarini is recovering following surgery on a double leg break after being struck by Kimi Raikkonen during a dramatic pit stop failure at Bahrain.
