F1: Ferrari’s (NYSE:RACE) Leclerc Quickest on Day 2 of Testing at Barcelona

$RACE

FLASH: Leclerc Topped the 2st day of F1’s pre-season after Vettel made an impressive start to testing at Barcelona.

Charles Leclerc kept Ferrari (NYSE:RACE) at the Top of the time-sheets in pre-season testing after a solid start to his 1st day running with The Scuderia.

His fastest time was a 1:18.247, roughly 1/10th of a sec slower than Sebastian Vettel’s best effort on the opening day. Both drivers were using the Pirelli C3s, but Leclerc’s lap was set on a slightly longer run, suggesting it could have been on heavier fuel.

MercedesAMG was off the pace of Ferrari, but believed to be running heavier fuel loads. Five kilograms of fuel costs 0.2s per lap, so even a difference of a Quarter of a tank can account for a difference of over a second in lap time. After setting fastest times in the 1:20s Monday using the C2 compound, both Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas fell into the in the 1:19s Tuesday using the slightly softer C3s.

Comparisons between the Top 2 teams is difficult without anything resembling a qualifying or race simulation from either and it should be noted that MercedesAMG rarely shows its hand in the opening week of testing. In terms of mileage

MercedesAMG completed 163 laps between its 2 drivers while Ferrari completed 157, both big totals for a day of testing.

This year 4X F1 champion Sebastian Vettel enters his 5th season with The Scuderia, and is joined by rising star Charles Leclerc, who replaces Kimi Raikkonen, who is now driving for Alfa Romeo.

Ferrari’s Brand: Ferrari became the world’s strongest brand, with a score of 94.8 out of 100 and an AAA+ rating just last month.

The Italian supercar manufacturer claimed the title according to the latest Brand Finance Global 500 2019 report launched at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Ferrari is the Aristocrat of the automotive sector.

HeffX-LTN overall technical outlook for RACE is Bullish across the board, and there is very little resistance here and none above 140.26. All of our Key indicators are Very Bullish in here.
