Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel in his # 5 “Gina” won the Australian Grand Prix Sunday, the 1st race of the 2017 F1 season.

Ferrari out raced MercedesAMG in Melbourne, taking the lead from Lewis Hamilton in the pit lane and looking back. Mr. Hamilton’s team-mate Valtteri Bottas finished in 3rd place, ahead of Kimi Raikkonen and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen.

Local favorite Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo struggled with electrical issues during the race and retired, as did both Haas drivers.

This victory is a super result for Ferrari who came into the opening race with great expectations after a solid showing in pre-season.

MercedesAMG have dominated F1 for the last 3 years, the power issues  are a Key cause for concern after this 1st race. Even at its best the MercedesAMG’s were not faster than Ferrari.

The 2nd Grand Prix of the season takes place in Shanghai, (PRC) China, on 9 April
