F1: Ferrari (NYSE:RACE) Monaco GP Preview
This weekend, after 5 thrilling races, F1 is all set for the Jewel of the year: The Monaco Grand Prix.
MercedesAMG team is here with an upper hand after back-to-back wins.
The Big Qs: Can they make it a hat-trick in Monte Carlo, or will Sebastian Vettel get his Ferrari racer on Top and try to extend his and Ferrari’s lead in the world championship standings, or will the Red Bull Racing spoil MercedesAMG and Ferrari’s party?
The Scuderia’s Seb Vettel won the 1st 2 races, and then Red Bull Racing’s Daniel Ricciardo won the Chinese Grand Prix.
The pressure is on the Silver Arrow team who have dominated since the hybrid-turbo era began in Y 2014.
The SA’s has stepped up in recent races, with Lewis Hamilton leading the charge and his teammate matching his performance on most races.
Mr. Hamilton and MercedesAMG lead the Drivers and Constructors Championship by 17 & 27 points respectively after Barcelona.
Ferrari has not converted all of their Pole positions into Chequered Flags, they need to tighten up on their pit stop strategies. Red Bull Racing is getting stronger by the day and seems to have matched the Top teams most Sundays this season.
Ferrari, MercedesAMG, and Red Bull Racing’s history at Monaco makes the 6th round of the championship unpredictable.
To make things more interesting Pirelli brought their newest tire, the hypersoft, to the Monaco this weekend
Sebastian Vettel won the Monaco Grand Prix last year with his teammate Kimi Raikkonen the Pole sitter coming 2nd.
Of the current drivers, none have won the Monaco GP more than 2X.
