Friday, Ferrari (NYSE:RACE) debuted its new 2019 F1 car at a special event in Italy, and the changes compared to last year’s racer are obvious.
The new SF90 commemorates the iconic Italian luxury automaker’s 90th anni, wears Matte Red livery with black accents, as opposed to last year’s design of Metallic Red with white accents.
The SF90 is described as an evolution of the SF71H, Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto says that the Maranello outfit tried to be as “extreme” as possible while designing the new race car.
“In 2018 we got really good achievements, and this car is a development of last year’s car. “It is not a revolution. We simply tried to push again to raise the bar, raise the level and try to be as extreme as we could.”
Since Y 2019 regulations require a simplification of front wing design, Ferrari had to increase front wing width to 2 meters, equaling the track of the car. At the rear, the wing is higher by 70 mm (2.75 ins) and wider by 100 mm (3.93 ins). And, the end plates are 100 mm longer and house the rear lights, which now consist of a pair of LEDs positioned at the outer edges of the rear wing.
This year 4X F1 champion Sebastian Vettel enters his 5th season with The Scuderia, and will now be joined by rising star Charles Leclerc, who replaces Kimi Raikkonen, who is now driving for Alfa Romeo.
Ferrari’s Brand: Ferrari became the world’s strongest brand, with a score of 94.8 out of 100 and an AAA+ rating just last month.
Ferrari is the Aristocrat of the automotive sector.
