F1: Expect Ferrari (NYSE:RACE) to Bring More Power to Canada
Ferrari (NYSE:RACE) has found itself behind MercedesAMG after a strong start to the 2018 F1 season and an engine power boost for the Canadian Grand Prix may be needed to turn around their fortunes.
Monaco on 27 May is the least power dependent circuit of the season, thus putting the focus on how each team arrives in Montreal 2 weeks later for a race usually won by those with the strongest engine.
MercedesAMG often thrives in Canada as well as Spa and Silverstone.
Today, I read in La Gazzetta dello Sport the detail how a modification to the Ferrari power unit pistons is set to deliver a 15-20 BHP boost.
So, if The Scuderia’s power disadvantage can be closed, reliability will become the great focus of the Italians with such issues the main reason behind Sebastian Vettel’s failed championship bid last year.
Although it still may not be that simple for Ferrari, as MercedesAMG are also thought to be preparing some kick up too.
