F1: Bottas, Hamilton Set the Pace ahead of Saturday Qualifying at Abu Dhabi

MercedesAMG showed the way in Free Practice for the F1 season finale in Abu Dhabi Friday as Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton finished 1-2 in the final practice session of the day.

Ferrari (NYSE:RACE) and Red Bull Racing followed in formation.

MercedesAMG, which has already locked down the driver and constructors’ championship, is looking to round out its Y 2019 campaign in style.

The weekend got off to a bad start for Mr. Bottas, as a retirement last time out in Brazil has resulted in a new power unit for Abu Dhabi. Mr. Bottas will start the season finale from the back of the grid so, despite being fastest Friday, it could be a difficult last weekend of the year for Mr. Bottas.

Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel has also had an interesting start to his weekend. During FP1 he spun and hit the wall on the exit of turn 19. Ferrari fitted with a new gearbox for FP2 as a precaution. His teammate Charles Leclerc lost the rear of his car and gave the wall a firm hit in the 2nd session..

The session came to an abrupt halt with 20 mins of the 90-mine session remaining when MercedesAMGs’ Bottas and the Haas F1 car of Romain Grosjean collided.

The pace of Mr. Bottas was 1.6 secs quicker than that of Mr. Grosjean. Mr. Bottas attacked into the braking zone of turn 11. Mr. Grosjean appeared not to be aware of the rapidly approaching MercedesAMG and turned down to the apex, leaving the 2 drivers to meet in the middle.

A short Red flag period followed, and the session resumed with little over 10 mins on the clock.

The time sheets remained static after the restart and the Top 5 ended Friday in Abu Dhabi separated by just half a sec.

Ferrari is the Aristocrat of the automotive sector.

Enzo Ferrari’s iconic Italian Supercar manufacturer claimed the title according to the latest Brand Finance Global 500 2019 report launched at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

HeffX-LTN overall technical outlook for RACE is Very Bullish, overhead resistance is NIL and Key support at 169.18, as all Key indicators turned Very Bullish and the stock has established long term support ahead of this breakout.

Ferrari finished at 169.29, -1.69 Friday in NY.

Ferrari will continue to create value in the long term. Ferrari is a quality 1st long term luxury products investment, and I see it at 200+/share in that frame.
