A brilliant debut winner of the Group III ATC Gimcrack Stakes at the start of spring, Every Rose (2f Choisir x Couredge, by Show a Heart) showed she was ready to stake a claim for the 2020 $2million Magic Millions 2YO Classic at the Gold Coast in January with a facile trial win at Randwick on Tuesday morning.
The Mark Newnham trained filly looked sensational, jumping smartly to travel in the lead for Josh Parr before cruising away from her rivals under a hold to win by five lengths, taking the 735 metre scamper in 44.78 seconds.
Every Rose was a $160,000 Magic Millions purchase for Darby / De Burgh Equine from the Tyreel Stud draft and has already banked $84,000 in prizemoney with the Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic on December 12 slated as her likely return to racing.
“That was everything we wanted to see,” Mark Newnham told Racenet.
“First time she’s been in competition since the Gimcrack.
“She’s such a little pro, does everything right.”
Bred by Wallings Bloodstock, Every Rose is a half-sister to two metropolitan winners being from Couredge, a half-sister by Show a Heart to Group II winner Vintedge and stakes-winner Youths Edge.
A powerhouse chestnut, she is true to type for her sire Choisir, who has 16 entries for the 2020 Magic Millions and a further 13 for Inglis Classic.
