Emirates Singapore Derby Fashion and Fun
The Emirates Singapore Derby returns for another edition on Sunday, 15 July 2018. Run over 1,800m on the turf track at the Singapore Racecourse, the 23rd edition of the Group 1 race is the final leg of the Singapore Four-Year-Old Challenge that brings together the best of that age group. The four-year-olds will be battling it out for the coveted trophy and the $1.15 million prizemoney in one of Singapore’s oldest races.
Before Derby Day, Singapore Turf Club (STC) will kick off the Emirates Singapore Derby with a slew of exciting activities at a public roadshow to be held on the weekend of 30 June and 1 July 2018 at Westgate shopping mall.

The established partnership between STC and Emirates has made the Emirates Singapore Derby a coveted racing and social event in the region. In a nod to the rich heritage of Derby races worldwide, guests are encouraged to turn up in their hats and fascinators for the ladies and sharp-looking suits for the gentlemen.

On Derby day, the Emirates Singapore Derby Marquee Package is available for those who wish to celebrate the day in style. Package holders will be treated to a delectable lunch buffet spread, complete with free flow of beverages and a vantage spot with views of the adrenaline-charged action right after the home turn at the Marquee. The popular Best Hats Contest will also return, and ladies are invited to come in their best headpieces to win prizes.

- Public roadshow at Westgate
Taking place at Westgate shopping mall, the roadshow will focus on hats as headpiece designs by top local milliners will be on display and visitors can vote for their favourite headpiece to win prizes. Roadshow visitors will also get the chance to observe a hats-making demonstration on Sunday, 1 July 2018.

The activity line-up for the weekend includes:
- Exhibitions – Equine, History of Emirates Singapore Derby and Corporate Social Responsibility
- Horseshoe pitching competition
- Showcase of Headpiece Designs by top local milliners
- Vote for the Best Headpiece Design to win prizes (open to participants who are 21 years old and above)
- Hats-Making Demonstration (only available on Sunday)
- Appearances of STC mascots, Racer and Clover and Emirates mascot, Leila (selected timings only)
The roadshow is open to all, and admission is free.
On Sunday, 15 July, the Emirates Singapore Derby 2018 race will also be telecast ‘live’ on Channel NewsAsia and Hub Sports Arena from 3.55pm onwards.
