DJIA Marks 23,000 Intra-day as The Trump Rally Extends

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) broke above the 23,000 mark intra-day for the 1st time Tuesday, driven by strong earnings from UnitedHealth (NYSE:UHC) and Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ), finishing the session just below that milestone mark.
The index, which surpassed similar 1,000-point marks 3X this year, has been steadily moving higher and is up 2.6% MTD, putting it on track for a 7th monthly advance running.
Shares of the largest US health insurer UnitedHealth touched a life intra-day high and closed up 5.5% after the company reported a stronger-than-expected profit and raised its full-year earnings forecast.
The DJIA rose 40.48 points, or 0.18%, to end at 22,997.44 after rising as high as 23,002.20.
The S&P 500 gained 1.72 points, or 0.07%, to 2,559.36. and the NAS Comp dropped 0.35 point, or 0.01%, to 6,623.66.
