Dennis Rodman Likely to Be in Singapore Come “Summit-time”
NBA Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman, 57 anni, will be in Singapore next week during President Donald Trump’s summit with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un
Mr. Rodman who has visited with Chairman Kim 5X since Y 2013, will arrive in Singapore the day before the 12 June Summit Trump-Kim Summit “and sources said he could even play some role in the negotiations.”
No matter what you might think about his presence, one thing’s for sure, the ratings will be huge.
“A lot of times in situations that involve complex diplomacy, countries like to identify Ambassadors of Goodwill, Dennis Rodman fits the bill.
Mr. Rodman received super treatment when he 1st decided to visit North Korea in Y 2013 at Chairman Kim’s invitation.
“It seemed like everyone [in the U.S.] turned on him and now things seem to be happening,” his manager told reporters Tuesday. “So, he’s just happy it’s happening.
“He’s just hoping for a great historic outcome.”
President Trump and Chairman Kim will meet at the Capella Hotel on Sentosa Island in Singapore, the White House said Tuesday.
In April, Rodman took credit for helping Kim to understand Trump, telling TMZ he gave NKorea’s Chairman a copy of “Trump: The Art of the Deal” last year.
“I think Kim didn’t realize who Donald Trump was at that time, I guess, until he started to read the book and started to get to understand him,” Mr. Rodman told TMZ. “Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un are pretty much the same.
“I don’t want to take all the credit,” he added. “I don’t want to sit there and say, ‘I did this. I did that.’
“That’s not my intention.
“My intention was to go over and be a sports ambassador to North Korea so people understand how the people are in North Korea,” he added. “I think that has resonated to this whole point now.”
