Cluster Yearling Head to Magic Millions in Adelaide

The quest to find Australia’s next life changing sprinter is underway with the release of the 2018 Adelaide Yearling Sale catalogue. Viddora, the multi-million dollar earner, shone a light on the SA based sale when she raced away for the easiest of wins on the $10 million Magic Millions Raceday at the Gold Coast.

The 2018 Adelaide Yearling Sale includes 454 lots from the leading breeders across the country and the Morphettville based auction will now be held over two days on Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14 March.

One of the most popular and well regarded yearling sales on the calendar, Adelaide will deliver buyers with a quality line up of prospective racetrack stars in 2018. Among the catalogued lots for Adelaide include (at least half) relations to group winners including Sirmione, Viddora, Riva de Lago, Arabian Gold, Carrara, Waging War, Vinnie Eagle, Concealer, Cartaya, Moment in Time and Vain Queen.

Cluster Yearlings

The rise of champion sire Fastnet Rock as a sire of sires has been clearly illustrated by his brilliant sons Hinchinbrook, Foxwedge, Smart Missile and now Your Song, so Neville Murdoch of Larneuk Stud is more than hopeful he has the horse to write the next chapter of success for this emerging sire dynasty, from a fast Australian family, bristling with stakes-winners, Cluster is true to his pedigree in type and performance.

Hinchinbrook, Foxwedge, Smart Missile, Your Song and Rothesay have all left stakes-winners as have other Fastnet Rock sons such as Wanted, Highly Recommended and Stryker, the sire of Group I New Zealand Derby winner Rangipo.

Eight stakes producing sire sons would suggest Fastnet Rock is going to leave a lasting legacy and Neville Murdoch sees blue sky ahead for his well credentialed candidate Cluster.

Cluster raced in stakes races at eight of his 12 starts, proving himself to be an outstanding galloper with a barnstorming victory in the Group Two Theo Marks Stakes.
