Cluster (Fastnet Rock) Yearlings in Focus at Australian Sales
Cluster’s oldest progeny are now yearlings and can be inspected at Larneuk Stud by appointment only.
Fastnet Rock’s sons are proving extremely popular at stud and Cluster is the best value of his Group winning sons at stud in Victoria.
A stunning individual with great scope, strength and presence, Cluster raced in stakes races at eight of his 12 starts, proving himself to be an outstanding galloper with a barnstorming victory in the Group Two Theo Marks Stakes. A brilliant sprinter miler, Cluster scored a career best win in the Group II ATC Theo Marks Stakes over 1400 metres when producing his customary explosive finish to overpower two other brilliant Group winning Fastnet Rock performers in Bull Point and Ninth Legion.
Son of the tough and talented Tarcoola Diamond, a Listed winner also two times Group placed – granddaughter of the Group One winning juvenile I Like Diamonds (AJC Champagne Stakes).
Cluster’s first two dams are by champion Australian sires Last Tycoon (IRE) and Bletchingly, while his third dam I Like Diamonds won the Group I AJC Champagnes Stakes and is by Golden Slipper winning sire Baguette.
From a fast Australian family, bristling with stakes-winners, Cluster is true to his pedigree in type and performance.
“He is a stunning individual that has won high praise from some of the best judges in the business,” said Neville Murdoch.
“You can see the Last Tycoon in him, that quality and refinement. His yearlings are just terrific and we’ve had both Inglis and Magic Millions here in recent weeks and they’ve just been bowled over by the cracking types of horses he is throwing.”
A speed pedigree with the great influences Danehill, Last Tycoon and Bletchingly.
Larneuk Stud was established in 1980. The 200 acre property has a 120 mega litre dam for irrigation and a permanent creek.
Larneuk Stud is situated 15km south-west of Euroa in the heart of Victoria’s Thoroughbred country.
Larneuk Stud has all the facilities required to cater for broodmares and the healthy development of the growing Thoroughbred.
Larneuk Stud has a proven record of producing winners and it is where the passion for racing begins.
