A Classic Ferrari Series 1, 1958 Ferrari 250 Cabriolet to Auction in January
Ferrari and Pininfarina teamed up on some very beautiful cars over the past 60 odd years. And some really notable ones have come up for auction, and here is an especially beautiful 1.
It’s a 1958 Ferrari 250 GT Series I Cabriolet it is show car from the Turin and New York auto shows in Ys 1958 and 1959.
This Ferrari was purchased right off the New York auto show stand by Prince Mohammed bin Faisal of the Saudi royal family, hedrove it while studying in California in his youth.
For over 40 years it was in the hands of noted Ferrari collector John Clinard, who had it restored to its original livery: a light silver-green called Grigio Conchiglia over Red leather, it is classic Ferrari.
This is the 35th of 41 examples made of the Series I Cabriolet, s/n 1079 GT is bound to be one of the highlights of the Ferraris consigned to Gooding & Company for its upcoming sale in Scottsdale, Arizona, in January.
With pre-sale estimates placing its value between $7 and 8.5-M, it’ll appear alongside a red 500 Mondial ($5-5.75-M), a deep red 250 Europa Coupe ($1.6-2-M), and a later 250 GT Series II Cabriolet in Black over Red ($1.5-1.8-M).
