This Ferrari was purchased  right off the New York auto show stand by Prince Mohammed bin Faisal of the Saudi royal family, hedrove it while studying in California in his youth.

For over 40 years it was in the hands of noted Ferrari collector John Clinard, who had it restored to its original livery: a light silver-green called Grigio Conchiglia over Red leather, it is classic Ferrari.

This is the 35th of 41 examples made of the Series I Cabriolet, s/n 1079 GT is bound to be one of the highlights of the Ferraris consigned to Gooding & Company for its upcoming sale in Scottsdale, Arizona, in January.

With pre-sale estimates placing its value between $7 and 8.5-M, it’ll appear alongside a red 500 Mondial ($5-5.75-M), a deep red 250 Europa Coupe ($1.6-2-M), and a later 250 GT Series II Cabriolet in Black over Red ($1.5-1.8-M).
