Can Winx Make it 25 at Royal Randwick

Royal Randwick hosts the highest rated horse in the world – Sydney’s mighty mare Winx – on Day 2 of The Championships – Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes Day this Saturday, 14 April.

Winx is aiming for her 25th straight win in the Group 1 $4 million Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes, one of four Group 1 races on the day and part of more than $10 million in prizemoney to be won on the track on the second day of the Grand Finals of Australian racing..

A Winx victory in the Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes will equal the remarkable 25 winning streak of Australia’s superstar sprinter Black Caviar.

The 3200m event includes Japanese visitor Pre Stwick ($12.00 Fixed Odds), to be ridden by star international jockey Joao Moreira.

Sydney’s premier trainer Chris Waller has three runners, including crowd favourite Who Shot Thebarman ($15.00 TAB Fixed Odds), in a field which includes runners from across Australia and New Zealand.

Waller’s filly Unforgotten ($4.00 TAB Fixed Odds) heads the market in the Group 1 $1 million James Boag’s Premium Australian Oaks, while Ron Quinton’s glamour mares Dixie Blossoms ($5.00 TAB Fixed Odds) and Daysee Doom ($8.00 Fixed Odds) leads the betting in a wide open Group 1 $1 million Coolmore Legacy Stakes.
