California’s Gov. Jerry Brown In President Trump’s Sights
US President Donald Trump said he stands in solidarity with the citizens of Orange County, California who are defending their rights against the state’s “illegal sanctuary policies.”
President Trump’s comments came in a pair of Wednesday afternoon Tweets.
Tuesday, Orange County officials voted to join a Trump Administration lawsuit against California over its law aimed at protecting immigrants from stepped-up deportation.
The California law stops police in many cases from releasing suspects to federal agents for deportation.
“This legislation prevents law enforcement from removing criminals from our community and is a threat to public safety,” Orange County Supervisor Shawn Nelson said.
