New Line and DC’s Shazam! easily stayed #1 in its 2nd outing at the box office, earning $25.1-M from 4,306 theaters.
Shazam! fell a 53%. The pic’s 10-Day domestic take stands at $94.9-M. Overseas, it also topped the chart with $35.9-M for $258.8-M globally.
Universal’s Little beat DOA Hellboy with $15.5-M from 2,667 locations for a 2nd-place finish.Little earned a B+ CinemaScore.
Hellboy, following in 3rd place, took in $12-M from 3,303 theaters after earning a C CinemaScore from audiences. The R-rated remake had been expected to clear $20-M.
Elsewhere in North American
Paramount’s Pet Sematary placed fourth in its 2nd weekend with $10-M, a decline of 60%, and putting the pic’s domestic total at $41.1.
Disney (NYSE:DIS) and Tim Burton’s Dumbo rounded out the Top 5 with $9.2 million in its 3rd frame for a disappointing domestic box office $89.9-M and $266.9 globally.
Disney and Marvel’s blockbuster Captain Marvel followed at # 6 with $8.6-M for a global haul of $1.06-B.
Universal’s profitable Us, holding at #7 in its 4th week, earned $6.9-M for a NA take of $163.5-M and $236-M worldwide.
After placed #8 with an estimated $6.2-M, ahead of expectations.
Annapurna’s stop-motion pic Missing Link flat in its domestic launch with $5.8-M the lowest start ever for production house Laika. It had been tracking to take $10 million, audiences gave it a B+ CinemaScore.
STXfilms’ The Best of Enemies placed #10 in its 2nd weekend. The civil rights drama fell 54% to $2-M for a total box office of $8.1-M.
