Gemini Man, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, and Addams Family each earned a B+ CinemaScore.
Jexi, the final theatrical release from CBS Films, also opened nationwide this weekend from Lionsgate. The comedy placed # 8 with roughly $3.1-M.
At the speciality box office
SKorea’s Parasite lit up the specialty box office with a location average of $125,421, the best since La La Land ($176,221). The Neon release boasts a rare 99% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and is playing in 3 theaters in New York and Los Angeles. It also scored the Top opening location in modern times for a foreign-language film.
The holdovers
DreamWorks Animation and Universal’s Abominable placed # 4 in its 2nd weekend with and $108.1-M globally.
The Universal empire took #5 with Focus Features’ Downton Abby marking an impressive $152.2-M globally.
