The volatility on Wall Street put cryptocurrency markets in the back seat for another day as a wild session in equities saw the DJIA  post a 500-pt range before 11:00a Friday and up 120 pts headed into the close at 4:00p in New York.

The price of Bitcoin, the No.1 cryptocurrency, BTCUSD held steady above $8,000 after some selling pressure to start the day.

Currently, Bitcoin is trading at: 8,620.689453, +620.689941, +7.758620%, as of 8:45p GMT, the market is open.

Cryptocurrency markets were in the Red for most of this week due to a variety of developments that ranged from China intensifying its crackdown on cryptocurrencies to Congressional testimony by the heads of the SEC and CFTC.

News in the virtual currency and Blockchain market was quiet to finish the trading week.

Have a terrific weekend.
