Are Bill and Loretta Next?
US President Donald Trump on Tuesday slammed the NY-T’s and the W-P after published e-Mails showed their reluctance to report the meeting last year between former President Bill Clinton and then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch on the tarmac at a Phoenix, AZ airport.
Here is President Trump’s Tweet:
The American Center for Law and Justice, the Washington-based watchdog group, published the e-Mails Friday after obtaining them through a Freedom of Information Act request.
Former President Bill Clinton and former USAG Loretta Lynch met in June 2016 for about 30 mins aboard the Attorney General’s private jet parked on the tarmac at Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix.
The meeting occurred just hours before the special House Benghazi Committee released its report on the Y 2012 Libyan attacks that killed four Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens and 2 former US Navy SEAL’s.
“Our conversation was a great deal about grandchildren, it was primarily social about our travels and he mentioned he played golf in Phoenix,” Ms. Lynch said of the meeting at the time.
Bill Clinton’s wife, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton, also was under investigation by the FBI for her private e-Mail server use as Secretary of State.
In the e-Mails published via The Washington Examiner Friday, W-P reporter Matt Zapotosky e-Mailed the Justice Department about the meeting because he said his editors “are still pretty interested” in the story, but that he wanted to “put it to rest.”
When the story broke, the NY-Ts published no articles about the meeting for more than 24 hours, the Examiner noted.
