Bahrain is the Top Middle East Destination for Expats

Latest InterNations Expat Insider Survey of 64 different countries also ranks Kuwait last

Bahrain is once again the best destination in the Middle East for expats, according to a new survey. However. It has fallen from its ranking as 1st in the world.

According to the latest InterNations Expat Insider Survey of 64 different countries, Bahrain is the 7th-most ideal destination for expatriates, a decline from 1st place in Y 2018. However, it continues to lead the Middle East region.

Of the worldwide results, Kuwait was in last place for the 2nd year running. Respondents cited difficulty in settling into the country and making local friends without speaking the local language as some of the challenges. A lack of leisure activities was cited as another cause for making expats not feel at home.

Elsewhere in the survey, Oman ranked 32nd overall, while the UAE came in 40th.

For the UAE, expats cited safety and security as a Key advantage.

Taiwan came out on Top of the survey. In 2nd was Vietnam, followed by Portugal.

The annual InterNations Expat Insider Survey is a collection of data from more than 20,000 respondents from 64 countries, making it 1 of the largest expatriate surveys of its kind in the world
