  • Gold flat to little changed after Fed outlook disappoints
  • Asian shares lower on guarded Fed
  • Crude Oil prices settle after turbulent week, Saudi reassures on output

Gold: Gold prices were little changed Thursday after declining up to 1% in Wednesday, as lack of clarity on the Fed’s future monetary policy easing kept markets cautious.

  • Spot gold was little changed at $1,494.05 oz as of 0400 GMT,
  • US gold futures were down 1% to $1,501.40 oz.

People are looking to take profit and lock gains, need for price consolidation before gold prices pick up.

Energy: Crude Oil prices edged higher in early Asian trade Thursday after days of turbulence, with markets soothed by Saudi Arabia’s pledge to restore full production by end-September at facilities knocked out in drone and missile attacks last weekend.

  • ICE Brent Crude Oil futures +8c to $63.68 bbl by 0139 GMT,
  • NYMEX WTI Crude Oil was +12c to $58.23 bbl.

Equities: Asian shares turned lower Thursday after the Fed cut interest rates as expected but delivered no clarity re further policy easings.

MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares sans Japan fell 0.36%. Hong Kong shares shed 0.96%, but Japan’s Nikkei rose 1.01%. US stock futures fell 0.23% in Asia Thursday
