Arrogate Stretched His Legs in Dubai
Arrogate had an easy gallop Friday morning at Meydan Racecourse in Dubai after being released from quarantine. Arrogate and his stablemate Hoppertunity arrived this week in Dubai after shipping from California for the $10 million Dubai World Cup on 25 March.
“All good so far,” trainer Bob Baffert said Friday from California. “They said he shipped really well.”

Baffert said Arrogate “just did really light stuff the first day.”
“He was the only horse on the track, so he was sort of lost out there,” Baffet said. “Hoppertunity had an easy gallop. He’s been there before, so he knows the ropes.”
Hoppertunity finished third in the 2016 World Cup, but all eyes will be on Arrogate leading up to Saturday’s race.
One of the best horses ever to race in Dubai, Arrogate will be a strong favorite to add the World Cup to wins in the Pegasus World Cup, Breeders’ Cup Classic, and Travers Stakes.
Baffert said he arrives in Dubai on Sunday. Final entries for the World Cup are due Monday, but post positions aren’t drawn until later in the week. A field of 14 is expected for the World Cup, with Gun Runner, Keen Ice, and Neolithic also having shipped from the US to run.
