The 2019 renewal of the Prix André Michel Hurdle (Gr3), for 4+ fillies and lmares, went to Sainte Saône (Saint des Saints), who held her rival Cotée Sud (Lord of South) in respect to the end and won by a good length as Presidente Line (Martaline) finished a ten lengths 3rd.
The winner was bred by her owner Jeannot Andt and with the Haras de Nonant-le-Pin. Trained by Guillaume Macaire, she had just won the Prix Sytaj Chase (Gr3), a chase for 4 and 5-year-old mares. She was back hurdling after switching from this Autumn.
Sainte Saone hereby won her 12th victory for 17 races. She now counts over € 300,000 in earnings. She is out of La Saône (Daliapour), a winner in the provinces for the same connections. She folaed three other winners, including Soufflenheim (Martaline), who won on November 21st over hurdles at Auteuil. Her youngest filly, Sahana (Northern Choir), is 2 years old.
The other Group 3 on the agenda of this last Sunday meeting in Paris in 2019, the Prix Morgex 4yo Chase (Gr3), returned to Bébé d’Or (Poliglote), ridden with a lot of confidence by Pierre Dubourg to outduel a superb Grisy Apple’s (Montmartre). Long in the lead, Amour du Mathan (Saint des Saints) finished third, 7 lengths down the field. A stablemate of the winner at Arnaud Chaillé-Chaillé’s yard, she had just taken the second place of the Prix Sytaj (Gr3) behind Sainte Saône…
Bred by Patrick Boiteau, Bébé d’Or won his fifth race in 8 trials. He is owned by Hubert Mauillon, like Prix Camabacérès Hurdle (Gr1) winner Nirvana du Berlais. Bébé d’Or is a brother to Bébé Star (Poliglote), winner of the Prix Congress 3yo Chase (Gr2). Their dam Bénéfique (Mansonnien) raced for Patrick Boiteau under the training of Arnaud Chaillé-Chaillé. She won the Prix Robert de Clermont-Tonnerre Chase (Gr3) after taking a second place in the Prix Maurice Gillois 4yo Chase (Gr1). Her two most recent foals are a Poliglote colt and a Saint des Saints filly born in 2018.
