President Trump’s Management of the Coronavirus Crisis Brings Him Record Approval

60% approve of how President Trump has handled the virus crisis Vs 38% disapprove.

President Trump’s job approval rating is up at 49%, according to the latest Gallup poll, a tie for his highest on record, likely due to a drive for his handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

President Trump’s overall approval rating is up 5 pts from 44% earlier in March and ties his record of 49% in the Gallup poll in late January and early February.

The President’s approval from Independents and Democrats has increased as well, 8 pts and 6 pts respectively, also tying for the highest ever at 43% for Independents and 13% for Democrats.

His approval among fellow Republicans is in the 90’s, but is not at the record 94% it was in late January, according to Gallup.

Presidents have traditionally gotten bumps of at least 10 pts in times of crisis, Gallup noted, but beginning with Barack Hussein Obama that number has gone down because of extreme partisanship, President Trump has ended that losers trend.

Gallup sees the public’s view of President Trump’s handling of this pandemic as the likely reason for President Trump’s spike in ratings.

60% now approve of how he has managed the crisis and 38% disapprove.

By party, 94% of Republicans approve, 60% of Independents, and 27% of Democrats think he has done a good job with the coronavirus tragedy.

The poll was conducted by telephone 13-22 March with 1,020 adults, aged 18 and older. It has a sampling error is plus or minus 4 percentage points at the 95% confidence level.

Have a healthy day, stay at home!
