President Trump, “America’s Top ‘Promise Keeper'”

US President Donald Trump has tallied almost 300 of his Administration’s achievements, and has “surpassed those of former President Reagan,” according to the Washington Examiner.

The Examiner’s Paul Bedard, in his “Washington Secrets” column, writes that President Trump’s “administration has counted up 289 accomplishments in 18 categories,” culminating in Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation.

According to Mr. Bedard, The Trump Administration can count “173 major wins like adding more than 4-M jobs and another 116 smaller victories.”

Grover Norquist, the President of Americans for Tax Reform, told Mr. Bedard that “Trump’s successes in reducing the cost of taxes and regulations, rebuilding our military, avoiding wars of choice and changing the courts rival those of all previous Republican Presidents.”

He added that “Trump has an advantage over Ronald Reagan: he has a Reagan Republican House and Senate while Reagan had a [Democratic Speaker] Tip O’Neill House and a pre-Reagan Republican Senate. Reagan and [former Republican House Speaker] Newt Gingrich were the ice breakers that allowed President Trump’s victories to grow in number and significance.”

American Enterprise Institute fellow, and former chief speechwriter to President George W. Bush (43), Marc Thiessen wrote in The Washington Post Thursday that President Trump “may be remembered as the most honest President in modern American history,” despite the fact that he “lies all the time,” because “when it comes to the real barometer of Presidential truthfulness, keeping his promises President Trump is a paragon of honesty. For better or worse, since taking office President Trump has done exactly what he promised he would.”

The Wall is being built

Federal officials are waiving nearly 30 environmental laws in Texas to expedite the construction of President Donald Trump’s border wall.

The Trump Administration has already issued waivers of the Clean Air, Water and Endangered Species acts and others to clear the way for portions of the wall now under construction in California and New Mexico.

The latest waivers cover stretches of planned border Wall and gates in Texas’ Rio Grande Valley, the most heavily trafficked illegal border crossing in the country, where the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) says 137,000 immigrants were caught last fiscal year.

Environmental groups anticipated the waivers, and are expected to sue to block them in federal court, though past efforts have failed.

In waiving environmental protections in Texas, however, authorities cited the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 allowing construction of barriers that “deter illegal crossings in areas of high illegal entry into the United States.”
