Iran Under Attack
Two attacks involving several gunmen and a suicide bomber have rocked the Iranian capital Tehran, the Deutsche Presse-Agentur, DPA, reported on Wednesday, citing local media.
At least three attackers stormed the Iranian parliament in the centre of the city, but the gunmen have not yet been arrested, DPA said.
A Twitter feed by a state broadcaster reported that three people were injured, as it posted video and pictures from the scene.
DPA also cited the Iranian news agency ISNA saying that men with machine guns had forced their way inside the building.
Another simultaneous shooting and reported suicide attack took place at the tomb of Iran’s former supreme leader, Ayatollah Khomeini, in southern Tehran, resulting in several injuries, the agency added.

In Iran, Fars cited some members of parliament who claimed that shooting continues in the building.
“Clashes still continue at the parliament building,” one MP said. That has not been confirmed by other media outlets.
In the meantime, Elyas Hazrati, a senior MP, told the agency that there were at least three attackers who carried two Kalashnikov rifles and a handgun.
“I was inside the parliament when shooting happened. Everyone was shocked and scared. I saw two men shooting randomly,” one journalist at the scene said, as cited by Reuters.
A Tasnim reporter at the parliament says the lawmakers have been locked in the building’s hall.
Attacker opened fire at the guards inside the parliament, then escaped the building and is now on the run, FARS news agency reported.
Fars reported that two assailants opened fire at civilians. Another assailant blew himself up in an apparent suicide attack, the local agencies said. Several people were injured in that incident.
The Interior Ministry is to hold an emergency meeting following both shootings, Press TV reported.
