Friends of the Concorso, Things Have Changed

Dear Friends of the Concorso,

Everything has suddenly become very different this Spring. Our thoughts and wishes are with all those, who are suffering from the terrible consequences of this pandemic.

We are thinking in particular of everyone in Northern Italy, a paradise on earth, which is also home to the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.

With a heavy heart, but without doubt given the immense pressures of the current situation, we have come to the conclusion that we must cancel the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este that we had planned for 22nd to 24 May 2020.

We ask you, our friends and participants from all over the world, for your understanding in relation to this far-reaching but unavoidable step.

Although we are unable to predict the evolving developments of the current emergency, we do not want to send you this regrettable notification without expressing hope that there will be a rapid improvement for all those affected by the pandemic.

We are therefore already asking you now to save the new date scheduled for the 2020 edition of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in your calendar.

The event is currently planned for 16 to 18 October 2020.

The extended period until autumn should provide you with sufficient planning time.

It should also, we hope, offer us adequate opportunity to design and prepare this incomparable, exclusive event and cater for all the sophisticated requirements as thoroughly as we had already done for May.

Whatever happens, we will keep you informed and up to date, and we will get in touch with you swiftly once the picture becomes clearer.

Our sincere hope is that we will be able to confirm this new date for you within a short space of time.

We are very much aware that during the course of this spring, everything has turned out very differently to what people had hoped and that far more difficult decisions have been necessitated than the one we are confronted with at the Concorso.

Our hope and confidence is therefore all the greater that this world – and in particular this beautiful part of Northern Italy will once more be transformed into the idyllic setting for this magical and enthralling event within the foreseeable future.

Nothing would please us more than if we were able to celebrate beauty and life itself together with you in the middle of October at this year’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.

We very much hope that you will remain well disposed towards our endeavour.

With our very best wishes for your health,

Your Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este Team
