Average Tesla, Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) Cybertruck Pre-Order Transaction Price Is Over $62,000 Crowdsourced Data Suggests
Crowdsourced data from the Cybertruck Talk forum has provided us with an idea of how much people are spending on their forthcoming Tesla Cybertrucks.
There are a few important things to mention before we jump into the numbers. For starters, the forum says the average transaction prices were determined from data crowdsourced from more than 1800 members of the “Tesla enthusiast community” but it’s impossible to know if the figures they’ve provided are accurate. It is also worth pointing out that the Cybertruck isn’t technically available to order at the moment. Instead, all you can do is select which variant you want, select the options and place a refundable pre-order.
Sitting at the base of the Cybertruck range is the Single Motor variant with a base price of $39,900. According to these figures, the average transaction price for Single Motor versions is $44,012. One reason behind this higher price is the fact that 58.74 per cent of those to have pre-ordered the base Cybertruck have opted for the $7,000 Full Self-Driving option.
In the middle of the range is the Dual Motor model starting at $49,900 but an average transaction price sitting at $54,446, again due to the fact that 64.94 per cent are opting for Full-Self Driving. Topping out the Cybertruck family is the Tri Motor with a base price of $69,900 and an average price of $75,448 with 79.25 per cent of people selecting Full-Self Driving.
The forum says that the average transaction price for all Tesla Cybertruck models to have been pre-ordered is $62,554 but take that figure with a grain of salt. As far as we can tell, there are no official numbers on how many people are ordering the Single Motor, Dual Motor and Tri Motor variants respectively. For example, the average transaction price would differ if 90 per cent of pre-orders were for a Tri Motor model with Full-Self Driving or if 90 per cent of orders were for the Single Motor with Full-Self Driving.
Nevertheless, it’s apparent that most Tesla Cybertruck owners will pay much more than the truck’s $39,900 starting price.
