The 1st US Mexico Border Wall Prototype Installed
Tuesday, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) unveiled images of the 1st border wall prototype, a 30-ft cement structure.
The prototype, being built in San Diego, is one of 8 from 6 different companies that will be considered by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the umbrella agency to CBP.
DHS paid out $2.4-B to the companies for the prototypes, at $300-M each, which is separate from the $1.6-B funding approve by the US House in June
The rest of the prototypes are expected to start in the fall, with non-concrete prototypes finished years before the concrete versions.
All are expected to be between 18 and 30 feet tall.
Mr. President, Build the Wall.
