America’s First Lady to Debut ‘Focus on the well-being of Children’

Melania Trump will debut her First Lady agenda Monday in a White House Rose Garden event.

“As has been evidenced by the many events Mrs. Trump has participated in during her time as first lady, her focus will be the overall well-being of children,” the First Lady’s spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham said. “Something unique though: She has not narrowed her platform down to just one topic as has been done in the past.

“Mrs. Trump wishes to help the next generation by creating change through awareness on a variety of issues that affect children.”

Melania Trump’s speech is expected to put detail to her generally stated goal of aiding the well-being of children.

The First Lady’s agenda for children has already included visits to children’s hospitals and schools and an invitation to 12 children for a White House listening session.

“I always believe that you need to treat each other with respect and kindness and compassion, but also stay true to yourself,” she told students in a visit to Michigan. “Just listen to your heart, but be yourself.”

In March, the First Lady spoke about protecting children against Internet abuse, including security and cyberbullying.
