Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) Stock Rises On Pixel 4 Debut
Google stock advanced on Tuesday amid the unveiling of the Pixel 4 smartphone, which takes on the new Apple iPhone 11 and Samsung devices. Alphabet‘s (GOOGL) Google priced the Pixel 4 starting at $799, above the $699 starting price of the basic Apple (AAPL) iPhone 11.
The Pixel 4 features Google’s radar detection technology as well as facial recognition and an improved camera.
The new Pixel 4 will be available from all four U.S. national wireless firms: AT&T (T), Verizon Communications (VZ), T-Mobile US (TMUS) and Sprint (S).
It’s the first time AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint will all distribute a new Pixel phone at the same time. Verizon had been the first to sell earlier Pixel smartphones. All four wireless firms announced new promotions after Google unveiled the new Pixel 4.
Google stock climbed 2% to close at 1,242.24 on the stock market today. Apple stock, up in early trading on Tuesday, reversed and slipped 0.2% to 235.32.
