SHOWDOWN OF TWO-YEAR-OLDS AT “AUSHORSE GOLDEN HORSESHOE” – FINALE OF THE SINGAPORE GOLDEN HORSESHOE SERIES
The five-race 2018 Singapore Golden Horseshoe Series will conclude with the running of the Group 2 Aushorse Golden Horseshoe this Friday, 13 July 2018 at the Singapore Racecourse. Singapore’s top two-year-olds will be competing for the purse of $325,000 and a possible $70,000 bonus. Racing fans will be treated to a thrilling race as the fledgling equine stars race to the finish over 1,200m on the Turf track to be crowned as the best two-year-old runner.
Mr Simon Leong, Senior Vice President (Wagering) of Singapore Turf Club said, “Now into its eighth year, the Singapore Golden Horseshoe Series is an excellent platform for our owners to race their aspiring two-year-olds, and racing fans have seen many fantastic runners and even future champions emerge over the past eight editions. Singapore Turf Club is happy to offer this platform to these novice runners to showcase their racing potential and this would not have been possible without the unwavering support of Aushorse, Inglis, IRT and Magic Millions who have contributed greatly to the local racing scene.”
“Aushorse is proud to again partner with the Singapore Turf Club and play a role in raising the profile of two year old racing. Since the inception of the Golden Horseshoe – which has additional support from major Australian companies such as Inglis, Magic Millions and IRT – trainers and owners have really embraced the series and competition has never been stronger,” said Mr Tom Reilly, Chief Executive Officer of Aushorse.
If the winning horse for this leg is Australian-sired and was offered for sale at a public auction through Inglis or Magic Millions as a yearling or two-year-old (means qualified horse)*, it will be entitled to a bonus of $70,000 ($50,000 from the Aushorse Golden Horse and $20,000 bonus not paid out from the 2nd and 4th legs). Should a non-qualified horse win the Aushorse Golden Horseshoe race, the remaining bonus monies, taking in any previous bonus monies not having been paid out, will be paid to the connections of the qualified horse that won the greatest amount of prize money during the Series.
Singapore Turf Club collaborates with corporate partners such as Aushorse for race sponsorship opportunities.
