World Series, Cardinals Vs Red Sox

Shane Victorino hit a Grand Slam homer as the Boston Red Sox reached Major League Baseball’s World Series and are pitted against the St. Louis Cardinals with a 5-2 win over the Detroit Tigers.

The Red Sox, who won the American League Championship series 4 games to 2  last night just 1 yr after falling to last place in their division, and the Cardinals will begin their best-of-7 Championship series at Fenway Park on 23 October.

The Red Sox claimed their 13th American League Pennant and the 1st since Y 2007 when they swept the Colorado Rockies for the World Series title. Three yrs earlier in Y 2004, Boston beat the Cardinals in 4 games for the Championship title.

For the 4th  time in the last 10 seasons, the St. Louis Cardinals have won the NL Pennant. They hammered the LA Dodgers by the score of 9-Zip in Game 6  Friday night in a awesome series.
