US Stocks ended a bit lower at the close Wednesday after erasing a larger loss in the last half hour of the session, ending a 4 day Green streak,

The DJIA closed minus  65.63 pts (0.75%) at 8,675.24, the S&P  500  lost 12.98 pts (1.37%) to close at  931.76, the NAS shed 10.88 pts (0.59%) closing at 1,825.92 and the Russell 2000 index fell 6.85 (1.3 %) to end the session at 519.78 as both the US Treasuries and the US$ rebounded.

The yield on the benchmark 10-year T-note slipped to 3.54% from 3.62%. Last week, the 10-year yield spiked to a six-month high of 3.75%. The US$ gained against the Euro and the Great British Pound, while Gold prices closed lower.

Volume and Breadth: Volume was moderate on the NYSE, where about 1.32B/shrs changed hands, below last year’s estimated daily average of 1.49B/shrs, and on the NAS, about 2.32B/shrs were traded, above last year’s daily average of 2.28B/shrs. Decliners outnumbered gainers on the NYSE by a ratio of 8 to 3, and on the NAS, about eight stocks fell for every five that rose.

Overseas, Japan’s Nikkei stock average added 0.4%. In European trading, Britain’s FTSE 100 fell 2.1%; Germany’s DAX index was down 1.7%, and France’s CAC-40 fell 2.0%.
