Thailand Stock Exchange Surges
Thailand Stock Exchange rose 5.43 per cent Tuesday on speculative buying after the market was hit hard by political instability last week, brokers said.
Â
The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET)Â Index ended at 765.76, up 39.47 points.
Â
“This jump was higher than expected,” said Chaiyod Juwangkul, an analysts at Country Group Securities.
Â
”Speculators have entered the market after it had dropped almost 100 points recently,” he said.
Â
The SET Index has been falling steadily since emergency law was declared in Bangkok on April 7 to deal with anti-government protestors who have been holding demonstrations in the capital since March 12.
