Terrorists in Bangkok Making Bombs
Over the last 2 months there has been 2 seperate terrorist arrests in Bangkok of terrorists groups making bombs.
While the government in Thailand attempts to side step the seriousness of this attack, one must be concerned given that this is the second arrest in weeks of terrorists in Thailand.
Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul has disclosed that a total of 14 countries have now issued travel warnings on Thailand.
This group of countries includes Canada, USA, UK, Iceland, Austria, the Netherlands, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, New Zealand, Italy, Norway, Israel, and Taiwan.
This week, the world’s dumbest terrorists, 3 Iranian bombers were detained in Bangkok after they accidentally set off their explosives were planning to attack Israeli diplomats, Thailand’s top policeman has revealed.
It is the first time Thai officials have confirmed the group, including one man who blew his leg off when a bomb bounced back at his feet after he threw it at police, was plotting attacks in the country.
The allegation came after days of accusations by Israel that Iran was behind the botched plot as well as two others in India and the former Soviet republic of Georgia this week. Iran has denied the charges.
“I can tell you that the target of the operation of this group is specifically aimed at Israeli diplomats,” Police Gen. Priewpan Damapong said late Wednesday in an interview with CNN affiliate Channel 3.
His comments came after a senior Thai security official had drawn a tentative link between the Bangkok blasts and the attacks aimed at Israeli officials in India and Georgia, saying the materials used in the explosive devices were similar.
Two men allegedly involved in the Bangkok blasts have been arrested in Thailand and charged, the authorities said Wednesday.
Authorities arrested a third suspect in Malaysia and Thai police will send an arrest warrant to seek his extradition, said Col. Piya Uthayo, a police spokesman.
In January
Police detained Lebanese Hezbollah terrorist suspect who is suspected of being part of a planned attack on the Chabad Jewish community centre near Khao San road in Bangkok, according sources.
Sources confirmed that Hussein Atris, who was arrested by Thai police at Suvarnabhumi airport, was part of a planned attack along the lines of al Qaeda’s attack on the Mumbai Chabad [Jewish] centre in 2008, involving the taking of hostages and blowing up the building. Eight Jews were killed in the attack.
*The confession of Hussein Atris has led police, on Monday 01/16/2012, to the discovery of more than four tonnes of explosive precursor in Samut Sakhon province. Police Chief Pol Gen Priewpan Damapong said that 4,380kg of urea fertiliser and 10 gallons of liquid ammonia nitrate were found at a commercial building at Tambon Kalong, Mueng district, Samut Sakhon province, 36km south of Bangkok.
The Gen’ said the suspect has rented the premises since January 2010 for 15,000 Baht (about RM1,500) per month, and that the explosive precursor had been stored there a long time. “However, the suspect confessed that the materials were meant to be smuggled to another country and not to be used in this country” Gen Priewpan added.
