SanDisk NASDAQ:SNDK Board Approves $750-M for Share Buybacks
SanDisk Corp.’s board approved an additional $750-M for share repurchases, expanding the flash-memory maker’s total stock buyback authorization to $1.25-B.
The company, which recently had a market capitalization of about $10.6-B, said its has repurchased about $234-M of its stock under the current buyback program, which was begun in October 2011.
The company this past October reported that its third-quarter profit fell 67% as sales and margins weakened, continuing a recent slide. SanDisk, once known mainly for its thumb drives and other small storage devices, has lately expanded its focus to business customers.
