Financials led yesterday’s top advancer followed by technology.
DJIA + 1.1%, S&P 500 + 0.9% and the NAS + 0.3%
US stocks closed up yesterday as higher Crude Oil prices buoyed shares of energy companies and fund managers bought the Q-2’s winners to polish portfolios.
The S&P 500 is up 16.2% on the quarter, putting it on track for its best quarter since the Q-4 Y 1998, when the index jumped nearly 21%. The S&P 500 has gained 37 %since hitting a 12-year closing low on March 9, 2009.
The DJIA gained 90.99 pts to close at 8,529.38, the S&P 500 was up 8.33 pts to close at 927.23, and the NAS posted + 5.84 pts to close the session at 1,844.06.
Positive action in overseas markets added to Wall Street’s good cheer.
